Favorite Summer Drink

by Angie
It's almost over, so let's try to hang on to it as long as we can. Name your favorite summertime drink, leave your recipe, and tell us WHY you like it. Don't be shy slushes:)
1. Cold Beer-I like Corona with fresh squeezed lime. You can't beat this.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but YooHoo over ice is a great summer drink. I never think about it except in late summer when I'm tired of the heat. It's sort of like chocolate milk but not quite, and it does work well on the rocks. I also like root beer floats.

When I was a kid we went to band concerts on hot summer nights, and pop, ice cream, and cake were the available refreshments. What great times! When I was in high school I played in those band concerts, but they still seemed like wonderful events. So I think about floats.

Now I'm getting all nostalgic for my favorite summer dress. I must have been about 8 or 9 when I had it. It had a turquoise top and the skirt was white with little paintbrushes all over it, each one with a streak of different-colored paint. The skirt was so full it went out flat when I twirled around (that was a very desirable feature). Oh, I can still see that dress. I loved it.

I like Black Velvet, straight-up, for my summer drink.

For the fall, I like Black Velvet, straight.

On those cold winter nights, you can't beat Black Velvet.

And to usher in the spring, I choose Bud Light...just kidding!
